Derek Druse

Director of Orchestras, CES, FMS, LHS

Mr. Druse has been teaching orchestra in SD #564 since the 1995-96 School Year. He has received his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Music Education from Minot State University. He has performed in many orchestras, soloing on the viola with the Butte (MT) Symphony, and has been a former member of the Bozeman Symphony, Butte Symphony, Bismarck Symphony, and Minot Symphony. He is currently a member of the Greater Grand Forks Symphony, and is a member of the Trinity Trio, a local bluegrass group. He has performed with such famous personalities as Bob Hope, Andy Williams, Anne Murray, Michael W. Smith, Mannheim Steamroller, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. In 2001, the LHS Orchestra placed 2nd nationally out of 66 Orchestras that competed in MusicFest Orlando, Florida.
