Electoral College! Ask your 7th grader about this topic. (this is one that is not easy for a lot of adults to understand.) There are some really good YouTube segments about the Electoral College. With the Presidential Election several months away this is a good discussion topic.
Seventh graders are now working on their study of the United States Constitution. We have been working on the reasons for the Constitution. They recently finished an in depth lesson on the Articles of Confederation which was the first plan for a US Government. They found out that it had a lot of problems and the Framers who met in Philadelphia in 1787 to improve the Articles decided to start from scratch and write a new document-the US Constitution!
Seventh graders have a cleaned out the 2nd 9 weeks folder material and are starting fresh. If your child's folder is being held together with tape and staples it may be time to purchase a new one. :)
