Class Updates

This is a new year for you and also for me! This is my first year teaching at Oakleaf High School, and I am excited to begin.  My classes will prove to be challenging at times, but I am here to help you every step of the way.

For my U.S. History classes, my ultimate goal is to prepare each and every student for the EOC, end-of-course exam in U.S. History, which everyone is required to take.  My best advice is to come to class every day prepared to engage in discussions and to complete all assignments to the best of your abilities.

For my World History class, I aim to show how the world has changed in relation to human actions, and to introduce students to new cultures, ideas, and ways of thinking.

A Little About Myself...

This is my first year as a public school teacher, but I have been an instructor of sorts for a few years.  I have spent the past six years attending the University of North Florida where I have earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education, and a Master's degree in U.S. History.  While I was persueing my Master's degree, I was privileged to be a graduate teaching assistant, which allowed me to better hone my teaching skills.  Due to this, one of my goals now as a high school teacher is to help students become college ready.  I am deeply passionate about history, and the humanities in general, and look forward to sharing my knowledge with all my students.
