Important Reminders

****The district has created email accounts for each school that parents can use to report absences and tardies.  Each account will automatically route messages to the school secretary and nurse.  Please feel free to use this method as an alternative to a morning phone call.  FSSattendance@nrsd.net

Fingerprinting Reminder:

Just a reminder, volunteers need to have finger printing done in order to attend field trips that require you to chaperone a small group (such as Plimoth Plantation in the spring) or work with a small group in school. Please check our district website for more information.

MCAS...This Friday we will be taking a practice test to expose the students to what each testing morning will look like and feel like. Next Monday is our first MCAS testing session April 3, 2017! We will also have one on Thursday, April 6th and Tuesday, April 11th. Please make sure your child gets a good night sleep and eats a great breakfast in the morning. Don’t forget to bring your gum if you want to chew it during the testing sessions (including the practice test). ** As a reminder all gum should come in, in a baggie with your child’s name on it. Also, please be mindful that we do have students with a mint/peppermint/ spearmint allergy, so please do not send in that flavor of gum. ***Also, remember to bring in a book if you'd rather have a book from home instead of one from the classroom to read after the test.

Math…This week we will continue with Fractions. Last week we compared fractions using the numerators and denominators by reasoning about their size. This week we will be looking at expressing whole numbers as fractions, and recognize fractions that are equivalent to whole numbers. We will also take time to work on constructing arguments. Good math thinkers use math to explain why they are right. Also on Wednesday we will be reviewing for our fraction assessment, which will take place on Friday, March 31st. Please look for the math review to be coming home on Wednesday, March 29th.

Reading… This week in reading we will be reading a variety of articles and will be answering comprehension questions, both multiple choice and short answer that follow the articles.

Report Cards– Went home on Friday. Please sign and return the report card envelope. The report card is yours to keep. Thank you!

Save the Date-Plimoth Plantation field trip on June 1st. More information to come home soon. Don’t forget to get your finger printing done!
