Project Overviews

Take a look at some of the amazing things we are doing.
Project Overviews

Project Title: Health and Wellness Week
Students:

Project Description:
The problem that we see is many people don't know how many options there are with healthy eating! Especially coming up to the holiday season, we want to spread the wonders of great food that's healthy too! Our second health and wellness week will hopefully provide some thoughts on leading a healthy lifestyle and how easy it is.

We plan on starting a YouTube channel to share our vlog and also to collaborate with the hot blog forkuandurfood.blogspot.com by Brooke to make some healthy holiday foods!!

Project Title: #KindnessIsKey in volunteering
Students:

Social media presence:

Project Description:
There is no easy access for Red River students to sign up for volunteer opportunities. We want to make a website for students to be able to see all of the opportunities in Grand Forks to volunteer.

This will help students to find volunteer opportunities which can be hard for students to find. Students in Rider Rope are having a difficult time to find enough volunteer opportunities to get a rope for graduation. Hopefully this will help them and other students involved in student council or NHS get enough volunteer hours to continue membership.

Project Title: Putting a stop to rape culture
Students:

Project Description:
For our project a couple of my classmates and I are doing a project on feminism but more specifically- rape culture. We have found that people don't understand what rape culture is or how it affects our society. Our first mission is to survey the people on when they think rape is okay. After that we are going to analyze what we collect and go off of that. During our pitch we were told to focus on stopping the rapists. We hope to help people understand who is a rapist and what defines someone as a rapist.

Project Title: Smoking from other perspectives
Students:

Project Description:
People know the facts & effects of smoking (to them & others around them) yet they still smoke. What is their reason to still smoke? What convinces them that it's ok for them to smoke? Others surrounded by second hand smoke have no choice but to endure that environment. We want to know all sides/perspectives on smoking & how it impacts the community as a whole.

Project Title: Raising awareness about anxiety
Students:
Grace Netzer
Our group has noticed a stigma held by people about anxiety. A lot of people believe that anxiety is “just something inside of people’s heads” and that people who suffer from anxiety are “just nervous”. Our group aims to abolish these stigmas by raising awareness and knowledge about anxiety.
