A £25,000 award has been granted to an Edinburgh organisation that provides confidential help for young people across the city.

The Junction, in Leith, was given the money as a reward for the work it does in supporting people through life, particularly relating to health and well-being issues. It was presented last month through the GlaxoSmithKline Impact Award.

Co-ordinator Sam Anderson said: "The award is a fantastic recognition of the hard work of the Junction's staff team, management committee, young people and local community."

The money will be used to help the organisation continue its work, which has seen it deal with more than 3000 people since opening in December 2005.
