Collating Learning Materials with Google Sites and Using Google Forms for Student Self-Assessment

The aim of the workshop is to introduce you to creating docs, forms and sites and think about how you might use them within your L&T activities.

To get the most out of the workshop have a think about a learning resource you would like to re-develop / redesign. Bring your ideas and/or current examples so that we can discuss what the different formats can offer and give you chance to familiarise yourself with creating resources within these formats.

You don't need to be confident with TEL - just willing to have a go!

Below are a few examples of how we've used Google Apps within the Physio curriculum at SHU

Based on student feedback I redesigned a word-based workbook to try and improve application of theory to clinical practice.  I'm using google sites to house a number of individual learning resources collated as one 'workbook':

I also created a site that houses various docs so students can collaborate as part of group activities in class and then still have access to the work after the session   https://sites.google.com/site/problemidentification/

In light of a recent MSc student's research findings we created an online taster to try and dispel some of the myths about studying Physiotherapy via Distance Learning.  It's housed as one site containing TEDEd, docs and forms  https://sites.google.com/site/shuphysiotherapyonline/

There’s also a self-assessment questionnaire that’s now a google form; this helps students prepare for practical exams and set objectives for placement.
