Running a Professional Development Initiative with Sites, YouTube, Calendar and Drive

Andy Tattersall, University of Sheffield

Howard 5225, Pennine

In this session I will talk about how I have used Google Apps to run a conference, set up a professional development website and even write a collaborative academic paper synchronously.

This presentation will look at the various ways Google Apps have been employed in supporting staff and students in improving their professional and academic skills in addition to running an academic conference. Looking at three short case studies, ScHARR Bite Size, Minute Mendeley and the MmIT yearly conference, Andy Tattersall explains how he has pulled together a multitude of tools from Hangouts to Sites, from YouTube to Events; to help organise events and materials with minimal effort and maximum output.
