Health Careers Exploration Program for Youth

 Explore healthcare careers with students, faculty and staff of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences including pharmacy, nursing, dental hygiene, physician assistant, public health, pharmaceutical sciences, nuclear medicine, health psychology and more.
 
 
The program is finished for the 2011/2012 Academic Year.  Please check back in the fall for updates on the new program! 
 
Boston Public Schools high school students who are interested in health careers can apply to the MCPHS Creating Futures Program!

 The purpose of the Creating Futures program is to introduce academically underserved and minority high school students to rewarding careers in pharmacy, nursing, physician assistant studies, dental hygiene, radiography, nuclear medicine technology, and other health professions.

Creating Futures provides a culturally appropriate forum for minority high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to explore the rewarding opportunities in health care today. Graduates of Creating Futures will be better prepared to apply for the challenging health career programs offered at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and other leading institutions of higher education.

Program Overview

Creating Futures is designed to meet the unique needs of our Latino and other minority high school students:

  • Student Mentoring
  • College Application and Financial Aid Workshops
  • Courses in Anatomy & Physiology, Bioethics
  • Medical Terminology and Introduction to the Health Professions
  • Direct Parental Involvement
  • Saturday classes
