Mrs. Thompson: 5th Grade ELA

Welcome!

This will be my thirteenth year at ATA, and my seventh year teaching fifth grade ELA. Fifth grade is my favorite, and I can't wait for another exciting year!

A little about myself-

I did my undergraduate at Ferris State University, and graduate through Marygrove College. I have one daughter, Alex, who is in 11th grade (Junior) at Berkley High School. I love to read (mostly mysteries and suspense), go to concerts, boxing, and listening to podcasts and audiobooks.     Orange Starburst is my favorite candy, and I love it when students sneak a few on my desk.

A little about our class-

I love ELA because you learn a little bit about everything. I'm including a writing workshop so get  ready to write. We will work in groups discussing books and other various texts, use Google Classroom to complete assignments.
