Ms. Thompson: 5th Grade ELA

This will be my seventh year at ATA, and my second year teaching fifth grade ELA. Fifth grade is so much fun, and I can't wait for another exciting year!

A little about myself-
I did my undergraduate at Ferris State University, and graduate through Marygrove College. I have one daughter, Alex, and many nephews and nieces. I love to read (mostly mysteries and suspense), go to concerts, and listen to podcasts. Starburst is my favorite candy, and I love it when students sneak a few on my desk.

A little about our class-
I love ELA because you learn a little bit about everything. Each unit of study will have a special theme, and many times we'll be discussing the same topics as you will be with Ms. Knox (science and social studies centered). We will also read A LOT! Get ready to work in groups discussing books and other various texts, use Google Classroom to read and complete assignments, write daily, and share what you've learned in new and fun ways.
