Welcome to Orchestra at North Main!!

Taking care of your instrument in the hot & cold weather...

Please make sure your instrument is never in your family's car for any length of time. Both cold and hot weather not only gets your instrument out of tune, but the glue can separate and cause seam openings. It's also a good idea to keep your instrument away from any windows or radiators in your home for the same reason.

PAST MESSAGES FROM ORCHESTRA

Welcome back to school!! I hope you have found some time to relax and spend quality time with family and friends throughout the summer weeks. If you are a returning 5th Grader, I hope you've even found some time to practice a bit! Remember, any student who practices 600 minutes, has their practice charts signed and can play 20 measures of something new they worked on this summer will receive a summer belt as well as a small prize!

Your supplies from year to year remain the same. 5th Graders, use the binder you had last year! You may need to add a few sheet protectors to your binder or you can empty out your old music and reuse the sheet protectors you used last year. Please locate your Essential Elements book if you don't know it's location! For the 4th Graders, a list of supplies you will need is below:

In addition to your child’s instrument, please make sure your child also has the following supplies prior to his/her first lesson:

1. 3-ring binder (1”-2” binder is sufficient)

2. At least 8 sheet protectors

3. 3-ring pencil case (or any pencil pouch that can be attached into the binder)

4. 2 Pencils with an eraser
