Mr. Irving's Science & Math

Recent Announcements

  • Metrics and Scientific Method Labs, labs, labs! We have been busy measuring mass, volume, and length with hands-on labs, including this rainbow lab. Next up is a brief journey into the scientific method, then it's digging into plate tectonics. We will be concluding the scientific method mini-unit with a lab on paper airplanes, so if you start seeing paper airplanes...perhaps we should do a lab on bottle flipping instead!

  • Welcome Back! I hope you had a great summer! We are shifting up our curriculum order a little bit this year, shaking things up! We will start with safety and the metric system, then move straight into plate tectonics. I will be using the Remind App. for notifications this year, if you would like to use it simply text @105science to 81010. Thank you, and I look forward to getting to know you all!

  • End-Of-The-Year Students have taken a whirlwind tour of the rock cycle and plate tectonics in the last month of school, conducting several Mineral and Rock ID labs, and a tasty "snack" tectonics lab, among other adventures.┬áThe Salmon have been successfully raised and released into the Smith River in Bristol, just below Profile Falls. Go visit them and enjoy a swim at the falls when you go!The final week the students are working on summary posters for all units we have covered which will be used for next year's 7th-graders.
