School Counselor's Purpose
A school counselor's primary responsibility is to promote the academic, personal and social development of all students.
To meet the needs of all students and families, a school counselor may meet individually with students or in small groups. They  may also conduct classroom lessons, meet with parents or guardians, and collaborate with teachers and staff. Any student can request to meet with the school counselor or they may be referred by a teacher, administrator, or parent.

The Role of the School Counselor

At Penacook Elementary School some of the responsibilities of the school counselor include:
  • Whole Classroom Instruction
  • Small group and individual counseling
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Behavior Management programs and plan
  • Intervention Team and Special Education Team Member
  • Coordinator of student services with community providers
  • 504 Coordinator
  • Homeless Liason


Mrs. Frain's Schedule

My daily schedule changes based on the needs of students.  Time is divided between classroom guidance, small group, and individual work.

Tuesdays are reserved for meetings and is the best time to contact me in the office.
