What We Are Learning

  • Bienvenue le printemps! Welcome Spring!With report cards going home soon, I wanted to take a moment to remind you that Term 2 grades for French are a mid-term grade. Some classes we have only seen each other 4-5 times in the last few weeks due to snow delays or field trips. Students in all buildings have worked very hard to bring the French back up to the surface and pick up where we left off last January. Students will have a grade for both French and Spanish this term only. Fifth grade learned how to communicate time in French. They also made connections with words in French and English.   • Bonjour! French is back in Loudon, Webster and Salisbury! We have spent the first couple of weeks getting reacquainted with French and going over classroom expectations so we can get off to a great start!First grade and kindergarten have been working on learning numbers to ten as well as reinforcing 1:1 correspondence and number writing. Second grade has started learning the days of the week and a catchy song to remember them. Third grade is learning about the months and seasons and learned a song and dance to help practice! Ask them if they can do it for you!In fourth grade, we have been starting with "Comment ca va?" (How are you?) And going over ways to answer ...

  • Wrapping up! We have had a busy last couple of months! We are wrapping up units and projects and reviewing all the new knowledge they have learned this year in French! Fifth grade has done a great job with the "Be the Teacher" challenge. Their lessons.have been well prepared and rehearsed, and the students have learned a lot about teaching (and learning). They are also wrapping up their Books of Knowledge with all the French they've learned over their elementary years experience. Best of luck next year at the middle school!
