A District Philosophy Contains policies on the district's legal role in providing public education and the basic principles underlying School Board governance. These policies provide a setting for all of the School Board's other policies and regulations.  
B Board Governance Board of School Committee Governance and Operations contains policies on the Board of School Committee — how it is elected, how it is organized, how it conducts meetings, and how it operates. This section includes bylaws and policies establishing the Board's internal operating procedures.   
C General Administration Contains policies on the management of the school district and its schools, including such areas as staff relationships, administrative organization, system-wide reforms, special programs, and policy implementation. It also is the location of personnel policies for the superintendent, senior administrators and school principals.  
D Fiscal Management Contains policies on school finances and the management of funds, except for the financing of facility construction or renovation, which is covered in section F, the sequence of these policies outline an effective process for budget development and implementation.  
E Support Services Safety and Emergency Policies includes information relating to the safety and welfare of students and staff within the District.   
F Facilities Operations Contains policies on new construction as well as on related activities such as long-range planning; remodeling and modernizing facilities; leasing,and renting, and closing buildings to meet the needs of growth and change.  
G Personnel  Personnel contains policies on all school employees except for the Superintendent (policies on the school chief are located in General Administration).   
H Negotiations Contains policies relating to the process of negotiating with staff units recognized by the School Board.   
I Instruction Policies Instruction contains policies on the instructional program: basic curricular subjects, special programs, instructional resources, and academic achievement.   
J Student Policies This section contains policies on students – admissions, attendance, rights and responsibilities, conduct, discipline, heath and welfare, and school-related activities.   
K School Community Relations School-Community-Home Relations contains policies, regulations, and exhibits on parent and community involvement in schools. Except for policies concerning education agencies, statements on public sector relations with the school district are located in this section, too.   
L Education Agency Relations Contains statements that concern the school system's relationships with other education agencies and organizations - other school systems, regional or service districts, private schools, colleges and universities, educational research organizations and State and National education agencies
