The mission of Explorations is to showcase the scholarly activity of graduate students at Murray State University, sharing that work with alumni, faculty and other students. We aim to highlight the many and varied forms of work our graduate students produce. Further, Explorations is intended provide graduate students an opportunity to gain experience in the process of disseminating their intellectual work. Explorations is published annually in the Fall of each year, since its inaugural year of 2012.

Appropriate submissions for Explorations include original research presenting quantitative or qualitative analysis of topics that advance the research in the particular field or discipline; case studies; evidence-based practice proposals; scholarly, research or interpretive essays; and poetry, creative fiction and non-fiction.

*Manuscripts may represent a portion or an edited version of a master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation, or may reflect other work completed by the student during their graduate career at Murray State University

Manuscripts will be evaluated based upon:
  1. Adherence to submission guidelines,
  2. Quality of work; including clarity of writing and contribution to the field or discipline from which the work originates, and
  3. Representativeness of a broad range of MSU graduate programs.
