Sorry, we need to secure the seats on our flight by next week so we will be having our mandatory meeting next Thursday 8/17/17 in room P24 at 7pm.  Please see me if you canʻt make it but would like to get the info.  Mahalo

Aloha kakou!

This is Kumu Anzai and I will be taking over the school side of the Japan Trip.  We are still very excited about traveling to Tenri and Sendai during spring break, but we made a couple of changes. Please look at the tentative information and attend a mandatory meeting in my room P24 on Wednesday September 13 at 7pm . Trip Status 7/24/17

Aloha I wanted to give you some information on the trip.

1. Check have not been cashed due low participation. Did not want to make reimbursements if not needed. 

2. I have spoken with our trip coordinator and Kumu Anzai. After they meet they will let you know if they will proceed. 

3. Please check back weekly for any updates.

1. Tentative Itinerary.

Leave Saturday, March 17 to Kansai Airport. Arrive in Tenri Sunday March 18.

March 17-21 Tenri.

Leave Tenri to Sendai via Plane from Kansai via domestic plane on 3/21

Sendai/Fukushima from 3/21-3/23 then fly back to Osaka (student home stay, performances, and lots of SNOW! Possible optional trips Skiing, snow boarding, etc. Would only be available to students that have their parent or guardian tagging along.)

3/23 to 3/25 Stay in Osaka (Universal Studios and Nagashima). 

The reason we can extend the trip is the possibility of getting very low airfare. ALERT, it is a budget airlines. Check out their company. http://www.airasiax.com/

We can possibly get tickets for 1/2 the cost of the other major airlines. Caveats: They charge for everything, blankets, entertainment, food, etc. But if we do it right a big plus for us!

Will keep you posted as we work on the flight logistics. 

2. Donation

As of yesterday, it was advised from a non-profit tax attorney to steer clear of donation proposal as many booster clubs have been under fire in recent time. You will not be able to take a tax deduction. Sorry but we must protect the integrity of the booster club and its members. 

Payments will be made to "Net Hawaii".

Please remember payments must be made via check, cashiers check. NO CASH! This is for your protection. Please keep a copy of all cashed checks. 

Working on being able to take credit card payments. You would need to pay the convenience fees. 

3. Will keep you posted on number of participants. Again as stated at the meeting that I would like to see a minimum of 40 students to make this happen. 





Waiver

I, the undersigned parent or legal guardian (if under 18 years of age) participant, desire and agree to participate in the Leilehua High School activity described above. I further understand and agree as follows: 1. I am willingly participating in this event and/or donating my time and services without any compensation and shall at no time be considered an employee or independent contractor of the LHS Band, and the LHS Band will not provide insurance coverage for me; 2. I know of no reason, medical or otherwise, that would prevent me from performing the tasks required to participate in this activity; 3. I assume all risks of participating in this activity and full responsibility for my conduct and actions, including any injury to others or myself or damage to property that may result while volunteering or participating, and I understand that the LHS Band is not responsible for conditions that I create for myself or those created by other volunteers or participants; 4. I, binding my heirs, executors, administrators and assignees, hereby agree to release, hold harmless and indemnify the LHS Band, its directors, officials,employees, agents and volunteers, from and against any and all loss, damage,expense or cost (including attorneys fees) of any kind for injuries (including property damage, personal injury, disability and death) arising out of this activity. 5. I understand that all refunds will be only be done as outlined in the payment plan. If I decided to cancel you I will pay the amounts stated. 6. I understand that the dates, times, and activities may change without notice. Director will, to the best of his ability to notify you of any changes in a timely manner. 7. In the case of an emergency, participant will be given first aide and will then be taken to the nearest emergency facility at your expense. 8. There will be mandatory rehearsals. If your child does not attend it will be at the discretion of the teachers to remove them from the trip. You will be given a refund based on the refund schedule. Do you agree to all the statements above?
