Fall Band Camp

Aloha Parent(s) or Guardians of LHS Band Members:

The Leilehua High School Marching Band will be having their annual Fall Marching Band Camp from Monday, October 9 to Thursday, October 12. This is a sleepover camp so please make sure they pack accordingly (see back).

If you do not want your child to sleepover make sure you select the appropriate checkbox. I would, however, encourage you to allow your child to participate in the full camp experience as a way to bond with members as a team. This is a great opportunity for fellowship and lifelong memories. As always, ample adult supervision will be provided at all times, and students are separated by gender overnight.

The Band Boosters will be collecting $35 per student to cover the cost of 11 meals and drinks during camp. However, you have the option of providing your child with their own meals to offset the cost. Please make checks payable to LHS BBA.

On our last day, Thursday, October 12, we will be holding our Fall Preview Show. Several other schools will join us for this free and casual event. Family, friends, and supporters of the marching band are welcome to come watch and cheer them on! Gates open at 5pm.

New This Year:

In order for the band camp to run smoothly we need the help of families to help cook and prep food for the student meals as well as the preview night and making laulau, supervise the students overnight, etc. We are requiring ONE member from each student’s “family” to sign up for one shift during the band camp to help the Boosters put on this fun and exciting event. The volunteer may be a parent, auntie/uncle, grandparent, older sibling (over 18 and not a DOE student), cousin, friend, relative, neighbor, anyone. You may access the Google Form on www.leilehuaband.org > Fall Band Camp> fill out the Google form and choose from the remaining shifts. It’s first come first serve, so please mark your calendars! If you don’t have internet access at home, please send your child to school with several options and they may fill out the form here. If parents have young children, they are welcome to come too! If a student has exhausted all efforts and absolutely cannot find a volunteer, the student must inform Ms. Eggering.
