  • Andrea Baccarini graduates using data from Pico Mountain in the Azores The Italian student Andrea Baccarini, who worked with us for two months at Pico Mountain in the 2015 summer season recently graduated with a Master in Physics at the University of Trento, Italy. In his thesis he discusses his findings on atmospheric vertical profiles obtained with an instrumented backpack during several hikes on Pico Mountain, in the Azores. Congratulations Andrea!

Overview of Research Activities and Motivations

The research activities in the Environmental Optics Laboratory started in 2008 and are aimed at studying atmospheric processes regulating climate and affecting air quality. In particular, we are interested in studying the processes involving atmospheric aerosols and clouds.
