Welcome to the Aging, Cognition, and Action Lab at Michigan Technological University!

Our research program is focused on understanding the nature of changes in cognitive function and motor behavior in healthy aging and dementia. Our goal is to understand the broader impacts of cognitive declines on motor behavior through a multidisciplinary approach including methods of cognitive science, movement science, and neuroscience.

Our approach also focuses on translating key scientific findings from the laboratory to real-life benefits to the health of older adults. Current research in our lab includes designing cognitive and exercise interventions aimed at improving cognitive function and motor behavior in older populations. The ultimate goal of our research program is to find ways to improve functional independence, and overall quality of life in later adulthood.
