Active Learning Modules

As part of the MaGE Training Course portfolio, students are expected to work with a partner or small group to develop an Active Learning Module on an assigned topic.

After an in-class brainstorming session, each group pitches two ideas for their topic and the whole class votes on which idea they will develop. During the last two sessions, each group leads the class through a trial run of their Active Learning Module. This provides them with a chance to spot places where their lesson plan should be expanded or modified. It also provides each group with an opportunity to see how other groups did things and possibly integrate good ideas that can be applied to their own module. For more detailed information about this process, please refer to the Session 5 lesson plan.
