Director of Curriculum & Instruction

Jennifer Schoepflin serves as the District Director of Curriculum & Instruction and the Mary Bray Elementary School Principal. Schoepflin earned her undergraduate degree at Drew University in Psychology while pursuing her teaching certifications in Preschool-Third Grade, Kindergarten-Fifth Grade, and Teacher of Students with Disabilities through The College of St. Elizabeth. Schoepflin earned her master's degree at Rowan University in Reading and was certified as a Reading Specialist. At Rowan, she also completed coursework to receive a Supervisors Certification. Schoepflin additionally completed the NJ Excel Program and earned a Principals Certification. Schoepflin is currently entering year two of the Doctorate of Educational Leadership Program at Rowan University.

Schoepflin's teaching experiences have shaped her vision of effective instructional leadership. Schoepflin taught fifth grade for nine years in the Clayton Public School District. During this time she served on the Positive Behavior Support In Schools Committee, Curriculum & Instruction Committee, School Improvement Panel, District Evaluation Advisory Committee, and the NJ DOE NJTAP Committee. Additionally, Schoepflin served as the Clayton High School head field hockey coach. While in Clayton, Schoepflin was awarded South Jersey Field Hockey Coach of the Year, District Teacher of the Year 2016, Gloucester County Teacher of the Year 2017, and was a top-four finalist for New Jersey State Teacher of the Year. 

After teaching fifth grade, Schoepflin spent two years as a Reading Specialist at Caroline L. Reutter School in the Township of Franklin School District and served as the chair of the district's Response to Intervention Committee. She also became an active member of the NJCTY organization and served as a teacher representative for the NJ DOE Office of Assessment when crafting PARCC & NJSLA. 

Over the past few years, Schoepflin has worked at Rowan University as an adjunct professor in the Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural Education Department. She has previously supervised early career teachers as they completed their clinical practicum in the Rowan University Reading Clinic. She currently teaches Teaching Literacy in the Content Areas
