Marysville School Board Adopts Resolutions for Replacement Educational Programs Maintenance & Operations and New Technology Levy
The Marysville School District Board of Directors adopted two Resolutions at their November 18th board meeting to place two proposals on the February 11, 2014 ballot.
The first proposal is a request to replace the district's Educational Programs Maintenance and Operations Levy which expires at the end of the 2014 tax year. This levy supports 20% of day-to-day school operations in the following areas: Classroom teachers, support staff, and smaller class size, classroom and school basics, and activities and fine arts. This measure is not a new tax but replaces an expiring levy.
The second proposal would support student learning through technology - a critical skill in the 21st Century. Levy dollars would be utilized to prepare students for the future in the areas of district-wide improvements for learning, WiFi, cables, and power, and safety and security. For more information, visit the Levy Facts and Information webpage.
