The Institute of Mathematical and Theoretical Physics at Michigan State University will host the first Great Lakes Mathematical Physics Meeting, June 17-19, 2016. Friday will be focused on young researchers, with a three lecture mini-course and a round table discussion on career issues. Saturday and Sunday will feature invited lectures and a round table discussion on current research topics in mathematical physics. Each day there will be a session of twenty minute short talks by young researchers. The meeting will be of broad interest to researchers working in mathematical physics. Thus the invited speakers work in diverse fields. On Friday, Vojkan Jaksic (McGill University) will give a series of lectures on Non Equilibrium Statistical Mechanics. Notes for these talks are posted here. Invited speakers are: Antonio Auffinger (Northwestern), Alexander Elgart (Virginia Tech), Birgit Kaufmann (Purdue), Kay Kirkpatrick (U. Illinois) and Jun Yin (U. Wisconsin) If you would like to attend the conference please register using this form. Registrations received by April 15 will be given full consideration for funding and contributed talks. Supported by the MSU Institute for Mathematical and Theoretical Physics, the University of Kentucky Mathematics Department, the Institute for Mathematics and Its Applications, and the International Association of Mathematical Physics. |
