My mission is to deliver high impact, health education curricula and coaching that ignites personal growth, and encourages you to move toward what nourishes you.
Health education pedagogy is both an art and science (and maybe even craft). My pedagogy incorporates health behavior theory, positive psychology, and health coaching processes, with targeted adolescent health behaviors and their environmental context. I encourage self discovery and accountability for personal health.
I believe in the mind, body, spirit connection as a unified, authentic expression of Self.
I believe that "what you practice is what you have".
I believe that small, intentional steps, practiced consistently, are the stepping stones of sustainable health and fitness.
My approach to health education is relational. You matter. You are worthy of living a life that makes you excited to jump out of bed in the morning and leaves you overflowing with gratitude as you settle into bed each night. And I am honored to be working with you and supporting you.
"We live in an incredibly exciting time whereby many spiritual traditions and sciences are working together and exponentially increasing our knowledge of ourselves, and the mind-body-spirit -terra connection. It is imperative that we pay attention. We all have an opportunity to awaken and to live a full-potential, vibrant life."
I have been an endurance athlete for most of my life. I am blessed to have been able to qualify for and compete in multiple marathons; including Boston Marathon. In 2012, I transitioned to the sport of triathlon. I've competed in all distances including two full Ironman Triathlons (140.6).
The seed for this active lifestyle was planted at an early age while growing up on the family farm in Cumberland, Maine. I was fortunate to eat straight from the garden every day, and to learn the value of a dollar at an early age. I was an active kid ... riding my bike, swimming in the pond, and exploring nature. Farm life taught me valuable lessons about the importance of clean food, fresh air, physical activity, and play. It taught me that with hard work, time, and the right tools... anything is possible.... These lessons continue to guide my life today.
I wake up excited to discover what the day will bring. I continue to seek opportunities that upgrade my practice. I have a heart full of gratitude for the life I am living. A life that enables me to be my best version of self.... to be a positive influence, and support others as they seek to amplify their best selves.
