FRIENDLY FRIDAY 4 BLUE  Day    –    SEPTEMBER 22, 2017    


TODAY’s LUNCH: Ham and cheese Pizza, Garden salad, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Fresh Banana


NHS:    Juniors and Seniors with GPA's of 85 and above have applications for the National Honor Society.  The applications are due today, September 22 by 3 pm.!  


CONGRATULATIONS.  Freshman homeroom winner from Orientation Day is Mrs. Gerrish's Homeroom!!  Congratulations!  You will be having Pizza in the Library for lunch today!   


COLLEGE FAIR for Juniors / Seniors:    On Sept. 26, Penquis will be going to the college fair at University of Maine.  We will eat FREE LUNCH there and do a walking tour of the campus.   Juniors and seniors are encouraged sign up at the round table in the guidance office if they would like to attend the college fair, lunch, and tour at UMaine on next Tuesday, Sept. 26th.  Thanks!

  

HOMECOMING THEME:   is Stephen King!   This year’s honoree is Mrs. Katie Joyner!  Friday night the lighted parade will start at 6:30 p.m. and the bonfire will begin after the parade is over and end at 10 p.m.  The dance with DJ Jeff Beaulieu will be held on Saturday, 7-10pm  There will be Days of Week Themes:  Beginning with Monday is Dress as an Iconic Stephen King Character, Twin Tuesday.  We will print the entire listing on the notices pages as well. 

 

COLOR MILO:   This fun Run/Walk will be Saturday, October 7 with registration at 8:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. The fun run/walk will begin at 10 a.m.   The walk begins at Milo Elementary School.  Registration is $20.  There is more information on the bulletin board by the main office. 


DRAMA CLUB:  It is that time of year.  If you are interested in being a part of this year’s holiday play please sign-up with Mrs. Clukey in the Library.  We will be looking for performers grades 5 – 12, set and costume design.  Auditions for performers will begin on Monday, Oct 2, after school.


POETRY CLUB:  meeting on Friday during lunch in Ms. Cabral’s.  Open to all high school students.  Come enjoy the fun!

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY      2 BLUE  Day    –    SEPTEMBER 20, 2017    

TODAY’s LUNCH: Homemade bread sticks, mozzarella cheese, pizza sauce, steamed green beans, pineapple tidbits, milk

REMINDER TO BIKE RIDERS and WALKERS:  You need to be extra careful and stay out of the way of the busses and traffic.  Walkers. bike riders, parent pick-ups are dismissed earlier so you are expected to leave prior to bus traffic.

GIRLS ON THE RUN:

We are excited to announce that we will be able to start the Girls on the Run program! Our first practice is next Tuesday, 9/19, from 3-4:30. Anyone who has not signed up yet or has questions should see Mrs. Loome, Mrs. Kain, Mrs. Bladen, or Mrs. Cabral.


POETRY: The high school POETRY SLAM CLUB will be meeting TODAY Friday, 9/15, at lunch in Room 5.

REMINDER:  Today is a Teacher Training / Early Release dismissal at 12:20 p.m.   

TODAY’s LUNCH:  Soft taco wrap, salsa, garden salad, fresh grapes, milk

GIRLS ON THE RUN: 
We do not have enough runners to run the Girls on the Run program yet, so there is no practice this week. If two more girls submit their registration by Friday, we will start practices next Tuesday, September 18. If not, we will refund registration fees. Please see Mrs. Loome, Ms. Bladen, Mrs. Cabral or Mrs. Kain with questions.  Join with a friend today and experience this fantastic program!!  

POETRY:   The high school poetry slam club will be meeting this Friday, 9/15, at lunch in Room 5.
5th Grade Outing Club will meet Wednesday, September 13 at 6 p.m. in Ms. D-W’s classroom, Room 204.  See Ms. D-W or Ms. M for more information.  

BUILDER’s CLUB:     the 6-8 middle schoolers that there is still time to sign up for the first Builders club meeting Friday. Sign-up sheet is outside the middle school office...if we do not have at least 8 students  sign-up we will not be offering      The club this year. Thank you!

FREE LUNCH – There will be no second meals available for purchase this year but there is always unlimited salad bar options!!!   

LIBRARY:   Reminder that the Library will be closed for the entire morning

GIRLS ON THE RUN: 
Sign Up continues for girls in 6th-8th grade interested in Girls on the Run.  Please see Mrs. Kain, Ms. Bladen, Mrs. Cabral or Mrs. Loome for an application by today! 

POETRY:   Any high schoolers interested in taking part in the Poetry Slam club, please come to room 5 for a brief meeting at 7:45 am this Friday.

PICTURE DAY IS HERE!  
TDOAY is Picture Day.  LifeTouch is here beginning at 7:30 a.m. and all students and staff are required to be photographed for identification purposes. ALL SENIORS DO need to be photographed as well as all staff.
