Vmps Online Foundation Training Plan (Starting at $79 for an Eight Week Plan)
The Vmps Online Foundation Training Plan is an individualized online training plan that helps you establish a robust foundation on which you can then build your race specific fitness as the triathlon season approaches. The focus of this foundation phase is on aerobic fitness, sports specific strength, and economy of movement in one or all of the triathlon disciplines.
Foundation training is important for all levels of triathletes from people new to the sport to elites, and for all distances from sprint triathlons through Ironman distance events. Typically this foundation training is done in late fall or early winter depending on your current fitness level and goals for the upcoming race season.

Sports Nutrition Consulting
Learn how to better fuel your body for training and racing. No fads or gimmicks; just practical advice based on research published in peer reviewed journals, and combined with Vmps' experience helping athletes achieve their endurance sports goals.
- Fee: $225 based on $150 hour rate. (Initial consult takes ~1.5 hours)
- Sports nutrition/weight reduction package: $475, includes initial consult and 2 hours of follow up.
Performance Services (performance assessment, training plan review, personal training)
Vmps offers a range of performance assessment services that can be used to help structure your training and evaluate your progress toward specific performance goals. Depending on your individual needs, performance assessment can be based on heart rate or power metrics. All cycling performance assessment is done on Vmps’ Computrainers, which set the standard for accurate and repeatable data.
Heart Rate/Threshold Testing
By completing a ramp test on a Computrainer, Vmps coaches can help you determine your lactate threshold for cycling based on your heart rate profile. Knowing your heart rate value at threshold enables you to establish specific training zones, which can be used to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of your training. Additionally, by tracking heart rate values near and at threshold over time will provide you with a general understanding of how you are adapting to your training program. Training by heart rate (in association with perceived exertion) is a very cost effective method of monitoring your training during individual sessions, as well as over the course of a season. Results from a heart rate/threshold test obtained from a Computrainer session can be extrapolated to other activities.
Vmps also offers several different types of power-based assessments, matching protocols that best meet your individual needs and goals. For athletes who train with power on the bike, Vmps can help you determine your critical power zones and recommend structured training programs based on your power data so that you can best realize your potential. For athletes who are looking for a more quantitative method of tracking their training progress over time, Vmps offers a simple Computrainer testing session that will provide you with data can be used for comparative purposes as your season progresses.
