Looking for a fun way to improve your open water swimming? Or do you already thrive during the open water swim part of triathlons? Either way don’t miss the Vmps Open Water Swim Race Training Series.
Sanctioned by USA Triathlon, these biweekly open water swim training races are set on a GPS measured swim course at Long Lake in Littleton, MA. Choose either a half mile or one mile race. Compete in one race to test your swim fitness and build your confidence before your most important triathlons. Compete in all three races in the series to monitor how much you improve your open water swimming. (You can’t do that by looking at your swim splits in triathlons).
It is a mass start format for each race. Life guards in kayaks will monitor each race.
Looking for a fun way to get in shape for cycling or racing? Then join us for the Vmps Time Trial Training Series brought to you by F.I.R.M. Racing.
Known as the ‘Race of Truth’, the time trial is you against the clock. Riders are sent off one at a time with no drafting allowed. A weekly time trial is a great way to gauge your cycling fitness. Plus it is rewarding to watch your times drop as the season progresses
The Vmps Open Water Swim Clinic is designed to help swimmers of all levels become more confident and effective during the swim segment of a triathlon. Participants spend the majority of the clinic in the lake practicing the skills needed in open water swimming. Fearful beginners work on learning how to relax and breathe while swimming in a lake. Intermediate and advanced swimmers work on skills like sighting and drafting which will help them to navigate the swim course in a triathlon more quickly. All this is done under the watchful eyes of experienced coaches and life guards.
Vmps is offering free triathlon seminars led by Elaine Vescio, a USA Triathlon Certified Coach. These seminars are designed for people who are new to the sport of triathlon.
Vmps Intro to Triathlon Training covers setting goals and objectives, planning an appropriate training schedule, overcoming obstacles, and other issues related to getting started with triathlon training. An online version of this seminar is available too.
Getting Ready for Race Day covers what to bring to the race, what to do when you get to the venue, how to set up your transition area, what to expect during each segment of the race, what to do (and not do) in the week leading up to the race, and other issues related to the big race. An online version of this seminar is available, too.
