Tips for a Healthier Chromebook

If your Chromebook is damaged or just isn't working correctly, bring it to the Library so we can troubleshoot and check it into Chromebook Sick Bay to be fixed.

Depending on the repair, it may take anywhere from a day to a week to be fixed. Get a Loaner Agreement form signed so you can get a Loaner Chromebook to use while yours is being fixed.

Before coming to visit, try these quick fixes:

-Check Chromebook for Updates

-Shut Down & Restart

-Remove Unnecessary Extensions

The deadline for Chromebook insurance every year is October 31st. It costs $40, unless you had insurance the previous year with no claims against it, in which case there is a $10 discount. Chromebook insurance usually covers the following:

  • two smaller "incidents" (broken screen, lost charger, etc.) OR
  • full replacement of a lost/stolen device.

Once insurance is used up, it may be re-purchased for $40 for the rest of the year.
