        I met with cast members and Director, Dudley Voigt to talk about the upcoming musical Peter Pan.

Captain Hook played by Connor McQuiston

        He wanted to play Captain Hook because it is a funny part and all of the other parts he's played in other plays were funny parts too.

        One of the hard things Connor said was, “Captain Hook is a 30 or 40 old man and I am a 13 year old kid and it’s kind of hard to do his evil voice.” Read More

Good Luck, Mr. Palan

        Mr.Palan retired as the assistant principal at NEMS in April.

        “My job is to assist the principal and do the effective running of the building,” Mr.Palan said.  

        Both Mr.Palan and Dr.Udupa think safety is their biggest concern for the school. Working with students who have problems is his big area. He also works with staff observing their classes and giving feedback on their teaching. This was Mr. Palan’s 3rd year as an assistant principal.   

        “I’ve always planned that when I retire from working in schools I would continue to work part time. The work that I would return to is a psychotherapist. I will be doing that at Regions Hospital and the job opportunity came up faster than I thought it would,” he said. Read More
