This year at Washburn, I will be teaching Biology and IB Environmental Systems and Societies in Room 109 (across from the elevator).

            Any morning by appointment as early as 7:30 a.m.
            Afterschool until 4:00 pm unless noted on the calendar.

About Mrs. Housenga: 


I have been teaching at Minneapolis Washburn High School since the fall of 2008.  I have taught Biology, Environmental Foundations, Forensics, and starting in 2012 IB Environmental Systems and Societies. I attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan and Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, traveling, reading, and hanging out outside. In addition to teaching science in a classroom setting, I have also been involved in informal science education at the Science Museum of Minnesota and the Minnesota Zoo.

Summer 2017 Adventures:
Mt. Rainier---yes, my son is crying because he slipped in the snow. I guess snow in the summer can be disturbing. :)
