Red carpet workers find silver lining as early morning sunshine provides hope that Oscar Sunday may be dry after torrential rains.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (MARCH 02, 2014) (REUTERS) - After struggling with days of torrential rain, the sun rose on Oscar Sunday (March 02), providing a silver lining to what has been a very difficult week for workers whose job it is to get the red carpet ready for the 86th Annual AcademyAwards.

Workers were up before dawn working on drying out the red carpet arrival line after a series of storm systems soaked Southern California over the past 3 days. In fact, workers have been pretty much going 24/7, according to Joe Lewis, head of production on the red carpet.

"It's looking pretty good now, but it has been tough," explained Lewis. "I would be remiss if I said that we weren't exhasueted, but we are. The goal here is to get the canopies down and to show the red carpet and all the hard work that has gone into this in all it's glory and I think I accomplished that."

Lewis added that he's confident that this year's arrival line will go off without a hitch.

"We prepare for this all day long, if this was easy anyone could do it. Is is the 86th Annual Academy Awards. This is not a one off or some show that popped up overnight," said Lewis.

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is hosting this year's Oscar, which is the entertainment industry's biggest night, one that is watched around the world and attended by the biggest of stars.
