Dr. Leslie Werden

Associate Professor, Department Chair of Writing and Rhetoric

Dr. Werden has been with Morningside since 2006 and works primarily with freshmen on academic writing.  She teaches First Year Seminar, Composition & Communication, and Public Speaking within the Department of Writing & Rhetoric.  Dr. Werden serves on several national Composition Committees and acts as the local Omicron Delta Kappa Faculty Secretary.

Dr. Jeremy Schnieder   

Assistant Professor, Writing and Rhetoric, Director Writing Across the Curriculum

Dr. Schnieder joined the Morningside community as an Assistant Professor of Writing and Rhetoric in 2010 where he also serves as Director of Writing Across the Curriculum. He has taught a variety of composition and rhetoric courses over the last decade, and currently enjoys working with first-year students in his Passport and Composition & Communication courses.   Dr. Schnieder’s research interests include writing assessment, literacy development, and writing pedagogy.

David Elder 

Assistant Professor, Writing and Rhetoric, Director Writing Center

David Elder is a Ph.D. Candidate in Writing and Rhetoric at Texas Christian University and has served as the Director of the Writing Center for Morningside since 2010.  He teaches in the First-Year Writing program at Morningside, serves on the Editorial Board of Young Scholars in Rhetoric, and is the production editor for Composition Studies and JAEPL.

Donna Galati                                

Writing Specialist/Instructor, Learning Center

 

Donna Galati Huls has a bachelor of arts degree in Communicative Arts: English, Speech, and Theater Arts from Westmar College and a masters degree in English from the University of South Dakota.  She teaches in the First Year Studies Program and tutors writing in the Writing Center.   In her off-campus hours, she enjoys gardening and motorcycling when weather and time permit, so if you want help with your papers, better get in to see her before the weather gets nice!

Beth Ellis-Kollars                               

Writing Specialist/Instructor, Learning Center

Beth has taught as an adjunct instructor at Morningside since 2004. She teaches Composition and Communication within the Department of Writing and Rhetoric . She works primarily with freshman students on writing skills. Beth also teaches at other community colleges in the area as an adjunct instructor.
