Our first All Pro Dad's breakfast for the 2014-2015 school year is Friday, September 26. We will be joined by the Boosterthon Fun Run guys. The Boosterthon Fun Run is our only major Fundraiser at Morgan Elementary. They will speak to us about how our school and children benefit from the Fun Run. We look forward to seeing you all there.
Isn't it hard to believe that the school year is almost over and summer will be upon us? Cutting the grass, family vacations and children's activities to keep track of, plus, keeping it happening at work...the summer isn't a "break" for everybody, is it?
Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of the summer, we can miss opportunities to share a special moment with our kids or to show them the affection they need and deserve. This month we will be looking at how some military dads have embraced these opportunities and see how we might do so this summer with our children.
Join us May 16th for our final All Pro Dads of this year. Sharing with us will be our chapter’s founder Andrew Burhans! We will have a good breakfast, a great opportunity to encourage our kids, and special raffle prizes to close out 2013/2014! Please make plans to attend and RSVP to let us know you will be there!
Being part of a family can be difficult sometimes, but learning to put the concerns of our family before our personal desires helps to build great relationships and lasting bonds. This month we will talk about How To Love Your Family and see an example of a young man who loved his younger brother well.
Join us March 21st as we look at some practical ways to help get this done and grow our families strong. RSVP and let us know you will be there!
Whether in your job or other areas of your life, we all want to succeed. Your success depends on understanding your responsibilities and growing in your ability to accomplish them. The “job” of being a father isn’t any different! It too has certain responsibilities and the chances are that there are dad areas in which you could do better. The question is...do you want to become a better dad???
Join us this Friday as fellow Morgan Dad, Drew Dixon, talks about How To Be A Great Dad and we ask our kids, “How do you think I am doing?”
If you could spend an entire day doing whatever it is you wanted…what would you choose to do? Now…if your child could spend a day doing whatever it is they wanted…would it be any different? Chances are the answer is “yes!” Our kids have different interests, different skills, and different passions. Part of our job is to cultivate what they are excited about!
Join us this month as we talk about Discovering Your Child’s Passion. We will welcome a special guest, Kishon Bishop, to share how people poured into him and developed his passion and the tremendous result!
Have you ever been to the Festival of Lights at Tanglewood? There must be 1000’s of little lights that not only look beautiful but also are so bright we can turn off all our headlights and still see where we are headed! Do you know that you could be like one of those lights and brighten somebody’s holiday season?
This month at All Pro Dads we will be talking about making this Holiday Season not just about ourselves but about how we could encourage our families and others! We will look forward to seeing you there!
Professional athletes know what it is like to be scrutinized. In front of thousands, their successes and failures are on display for everyone to see. While not in front of thousands, we too are role models for the young kids in our lives. We will be scrutinized by our children and will have an impact on them. The question becomes…what kind of role model will we be?
Join us November 15th at 6:30 am for another fun filled All Pro Dad Breakfast as we chat about being a good role model for our kids.
Our next All Pro Dads breakfast is on October 18th and we will be talking about “sharing.” Most of us have so much extra stuff, what do you do with it? How about sharing it with somebody who is not as fortunate as you? Join us as we discuss cultivating generous hearts in our families AND all the other good All Pro Dads stuff you already love!
Our final All Pro Dad breakfast of the school year will be May 17th, and Rusty LaRue, Wake Forest Assistant Basketball Coach, will be our guest speaker. Rusty is a Wake Forest Hall of Famer, having played basketball, football and baseball for the Deacs. He went on to play 5 years in the NBA for such teams as the Chicago Bulls (was a member of the 1998 NBA Championship team), Utah Jazz & Golden State Warriors.
Rusty has an incredible background and an amazing story that is encouraging to kids & dads of all ages! You will NOT want to miss this.
Sign up to attend on the home page as soon as possible!
