I am a native of Morgan County and a graduate of Morgan County High School.  I received my Bachelor Degree in Social Science Education and my Masters Degree in Middle Grades Education from UGA (Go Dawgs). I have been teaching for 28 years and 26 of those years have been at MCMS. I am certified to teach reading, Social Studies (4th through 12th grades), and gifted classes. For the last 20 years I have been teaching Georgia Studies in 8th grade. I truly enjoy the subject that I teach, and I know that you will enjoy it too.

You will participate in a variety of activities in my class. I use thinking maps, desk maps, step books, illustrations, video clips, plays and other readings as well as technology to cover the content.  Georgia is an amazing state, and you will learn about its history, geography, government, and economy. Hopefully you will realize Georgia is a very diversified state with many opportunities.

I am married to Ray Stapleton and have two boys; Drew and Seth.

I also serve as the Volleyball coach.
