Nancy Cisler, Principal
A member of the Moreland community for over 25 years, Nancy Cisler has served students as a teacher, Assistant Principal, and most recently the Principal of Country Lane Elementary School for the past five years. As Principal, Mrs. Cisler’s visionary leadership has fundamentally impacted the quality and rigor of instruction at Country Lane, raising the school’s API score 31 points in her short time there.
An active member of Northern California’s educational community, Mrs. Cisler was honored as ACSA’s (Association of California School Administrator’s) Co-Administrator of the Year in 2011/2012 for her outstanding performance and achievement as a school leader. With Mrs. Cisler at the helm of Country Lane, Country Lane was recognized as a California Distinguished School in 2011/2012, an honor given to California’s most exemplary and inspiring schools that demonstrate significant gains in narrowing the achievement gap.
Due to her wide-reaching and results-oriented mindset, Mrs. Cisler was chosen to be part of the District’s Design Team to create a new school. Through several public, private, and charter school visits, Mrs. Cisler and the Moreland Design Team experienced first-hand the various options for attaining a 21st Century school. As a result of visiting exemplary schools, researching best practices, and continuing to promote the success of all students through advocating, nurturing, and sustaining the use of technology, that Project Based Learning was chosen as a bridge to reach individual learning needs.
A strong advocate of the Project Based Learning model, Mrs. Cisler is excited to continue this new model of learning that creates active, engaged, real-world relevance and learning for students. And it’s only natural that building strong relationships with staff, parents, and students, are an integral part of Mrs. Cisler’s personality and the key to this lasting design.
Nancy is thrilled to be part of the re-opening of Latimer Elementary School.
