MINNESOTA VALLEY AREA LEARNING CENTER

The Minnesota Valley Area Learning Center (MVALC) provides a non-traditional setting in which students in Western Minnesota can pursue a traditional high school diploma.  The curriculum is designed to meet all local and state requirements for graduation.

WHAT IS THE MINNESOTA VALLEY AREA LEARNING CENTER?

  • The Area Learning Center (ALC) is an alternative approach to education offering an individualized learning program.
  •  Learning programs are open to qualified students ages twelve (12) through adult.
  • Classes are small and taught by certified teachers.
  • Available classes range from remediation of basic skills to accelerated classes in all disciplines.
  • Learning programs are developed with respect for individual learning styles and interests.
  • Credit for academic work completed at the Area Learning Center is honored by the student’s home school district.
  • Minnesota Valley Area Learning Center operates a year round program.
  • Students also may, under certain circumstances, dual enroll at the Minnesota Valley Area Learning Center and their resident or home district.
