Process for Approving New Sites & Apps

As part of our due diligence to protect online student privacy and safety, we must vet and screen online websites that either require a student login or tracks any type of identifiable student  information. This does not apply to sites that do not require a login or collects identifiable information on a student.  Approved websites comply with the SUPER Act, FERPA, COPPA, and CIPA legislation.

To request the approval of a site, please do the following:
  1. Verify if your app has already been approved by visiting the Online Educational Website & Apps list.
  2. If your site has not been approved, please answer the questions on the Request a Site form (you must be logged in to your Google Account to see the form). 
  3. All requests for approval must be submitted between Tuesday, May 1, 2018 and Friday, June 22, 2018
The process is designed to provide  parents with timely, required  information to make an informed consent as required by legislation.

By the middle of August, Digital Learning will send out to staff an updated SUPER Act Website Approved List containing only approved sites. This list, along with information about Google accounts, will be provided to parents  to make  an informed consent for their student  to have online access and a Google account.
