Our La Loma Green Machine Robotics Team #8260 is a group of nine junior high kids who's ages range from 12-13 years old. For our First Lego League (FLL) robotics competition, we must befriend and help an animal for this years theme, Animal Allies. We have chosen to help the Chinook Salmon. We have gone to multiple river clean ups along the Tuolumne River and Dry Creek in hopes of creating a better environment for the Chinook Salmon, and ultimately, ourselves.

Chinook Salmon

The Chinook Salmon is the largest species in the Pacific Salmon genus. On average, they live about 3-7 years in their natural environment. Chinook Salmon can grow to be 3 feet long and weigh 30 pounds, but the larger fish have been known to grow 5 feet and upwards of 110 pounds!
