Front page story, unexpected

posted Jan 2, 2011, 8:21 PM by Chris A. Davidson   [ updated Jan 6, 2011, 12:46 AM ]

I think nobody was more surprised then I on Tuesday Dec. 28, 2010, when the local paper came out and there looking back at me, on the front page was my wife!  I mean SERIOUSLY, (and she hates that word) But seriously? She does not like her picture taken, and when it happens, she does not like anyone to see it. Suddenly there she is, I can't believe it, I think I just dropped the paper, picked it up to make sure I was not dreaming, then dropped my jaw! I heard it hit the floor, that's all that pulled me back to reality!

Wow, hard to understand! No award or anything, we just got picked for the "Cooke County Spotlight", SERIOUSLY?  We are just your average behind the scene type folks, not used to any attention. It's all pretty darn cool!!!

    Thank You, Gainesville Daily Register.

Coloring Contest

posted Jan 2, 2011, 7:51 PM by Chris A. Davidson   [ updated Aug 10, 2011, 11:23 AM ]

Winners were announced in our "End of summer coloring contest". Names are withheld because they are children after all, but pictured here on the left is the winning picture for 1st grade, on the right is 3rd grade. To see all the winners you will have to go to our Facebook page.

Of course it's not about the contest, it's about giving the kids a chance to express themselves and do something fun!  And they each get a free donut just for turning it in, no matter how good or bad it is.  We wait till after school starts and they are getting back into that same old routine, so maybe, just maybe they can re-live that summer vacation one more time!

You helped Mom help United Way

From the Gainesville Daily Register Oct. 24, 2010.  We were able to raise $334.00 for United Way, in our most recent "Donut Holes for United Way" program. We feel honored to be part of this, I know that sounds corny, but it's true! You bought almost 100 bags a day during this give back program, that is up quite a bit from last year. And I hope that together we can go over that 100 bag a day mark next year!

Mom is on Facebook

"We finally got our own Facebook page", that is what Chris said when is daughter set it up. Being a small mom & pop operation it is hard to compete with the big boys! Maybe this will help. So we hope everybody will find us, and click the like button so we can get the word out when we have special events and such.

In fact we are planning some "Facebook only" discounts, even free donuts sometimes. So stay tuned!

Donut Holes for United Way 2010

We were very pleased to find this item in the Gainesville paper Oct 7, 2010. We have done this a couple of years now, it is always fun and the customers get a kick out of it because they get their favorite treat to get through the day, and help the United Way at the same time, with no extra cost!  That's because we donate 50 cents of every bag sold to the United Way, we do not raise the price or anything like that. Its just our way to give back to the community that supports us.

We think it is important to give back, did you know that all Police, Fire, and Rescue workers eat for FREE! Yup anything they want, but don't tell the chief, Shhhh... he does not want his people hanging around a Donut Shop. To many bad movie scenes about that! But they put their life on the line everyday, so were proud to support them! Oh, yea, as for the United Way, did you know that 93 cents of every dollar goes to help someone here in Cooke County. That is pretty good in these days! Were darn proud of them too.
