Joseph Olivares, MSW, LISW-S

If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and worried I am glad you are reaching out for help at this time in your life. I am interested in your personal story which reveals both the positive and negative beliefs you may be holding that that are leading to outcomes  you are not satisfied with.

I create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for you to grow and develop beyond the current issues.  I adhere to the 12 step maxim of “progression not perfection” to support you in your ongoing journey to well being, whether it is with addiction issues or mental health issues.  My therapy process begins first by starting from where you are at this point in your journey, in terms of what you find meaningful in your life and begin to collaboratively develop a treatment plan with you, with goals that specifically target your current issues. Together we can work together to decrease your anxiety, depression, anger issues, and learn how to manage  relationships and develop appropriate communications skills.

I have clinical experience working with individual’s and groups from diverse backgrounds struggling with mental health and addiction issues.  I am psychodynamically oriented but use a variety of approaches including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, insight oriented work, mindfulness skills, and existential therapy techniques. My experience has shown me that when a therapeutic relationship clicks great progress can be made. I look forward to hearing from you.
