Alexis Wellman, MSW, LISW

Alexis is a clinical therapist independently licensed in the state of Ohio with a Masters degree in social work from The Ohio State University. She works with individuals age 14 and older. Her clinical areas of interest include mood disorders like depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders of all types, including: OCD, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, phobias, social anxiety and personality disorders. Alexis helps people struggling with relationship and family conflict, intimacy issues, feelings of low self-worth, social isolation, frequent mood swings, life transitions and grief. She is an ally of the LGBTQ community and welcomes anyone who is questioning their gender or sexual orientation into her practice (as do all members of Moment to Moment!).

Her therapeutic approach is nonjudgmental, mindful, and client-centered. She will start your time together right where you are now in your life. Together, you will work to make sure you understand your diagnoses and symptoms, and to develop a plan for you to stay mentally well. The types of therapy that she incorporates in treatment come from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Therapy (REBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and various mindfulness practices.

Alexis has experience in multiple other mental health settings including community psychiatric crisis work, assessment and diagnostic of mental illness, and inpatient and outpatient individual and group therapy in a hospital setting. She believes that people have the ability to change the habits and thoughts that aren't serving them and live more peaceful and balanced lives.
