Maplewood Mission Statement
Mogadore is a Career Technical School. Maplewood serves ten school districts in the Portage and Summit counties. There is no tuition charge for high school students from the participating school districts. However, some students will need to purchase tool kits or other special items for course work. A payment plan/financial aid is available so that programs are affordable for all families. Admission into a Maplewood Career Center program is contingent upon the following factors:
At Maplewood Career Center in Ravenna there are several programs students can choose to pursue for their junior and senior years of high school:
Animal Science Applied Engineering and Machining Auto Collision Auto Service Technology Business Management
Mechanical, Groundskeeping, and Construction Medical Assisting Option 4 Power Equipment Mechanics Welding
Students who attend Maplewood receive instruction in the remainder of their core curriculum courses in addition to receiving training in the program of their choice. Mogadore students who attend Maplewood are still eligible to participate in extracurricular activities, like sports, clubs and other after school activities. Maplewood Career Center is a wonderful opportunity for students who are self-motivated and eager to learn a trade or craft. Attending Maplewood provides students real work experiences and job training in specific fields. The skills that are learned here can help support students after they graduate from Mogadore by allowing them to earn money to help pay for college or pursue other plans.
