Camp Promise

Camp Promise is a free children's bereavement day camp offered by Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service Center to help children ages 6 - 11 process a significant loss, such as a parent, grandparent, or sibling.  Details   For more information on upcoming dates and/or to register your child, contact Rochelle Sheppard, Bereavement Coordinator, at 330.668.4662 or 800.335.1455, ext 4662.

"Stuck at Prom" Scholarship

Duck Tape Scholarship Contest! 
Students attending prom this year are able to compete in this scholarship program.  Couples must make their outfit entirely out of duck tape. Entry begins March 11, 2013. Please see official rules on their website: http://www.duckbrand.com/Promotions/stuck-at-prom/Rules.aspx

Waynesburg University: Ohio Honors Scholarship

Scholarship Eligibility
The Jeffrey and Regina Taussig Ohio Honors Scholarship is a full tuition, room and board scholarship for four years at Waynesburg University and is worth more than $120,000. To be eligible for the award you must meet these requirements:

Cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0
Ohio resident
Considerable co-curricular activities
Major in one of the following areas at Waynesburg University: Biochemistry, Biology, Biology Education, Chemistry, Chemistry Education, Computer Science, Engineering (3/2): Chemistry or Math, Forensic Chemistry, Forensic Science, Mathematics, Math Education, Pre-Dental, Pre-Medical, Pre-Veterinary

How to Apply
Qualified candidates interested in the Jeffrey and Regina Taussig Ohio Honors Scholarship should apply for admission to Waynesburg University by Nov. 1. Interested students who are accepted to the University will be asked to complete an additional online application, and those whom the committee has identified as potential candidates will be invited to interview for the scholarship. Ohio State - GLBT Alumni Scholarship

The Ohio State University Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Alumni Society's Scholarship Committee welcomes applications for five scholarships from students who meet the following requirements: 

    -The student is currently enrolled at The OSU or has been accepted and plans to be enrolled
    -High Schools students or transfer students must be admitted to the university before apply
    -Currently enrolled students at OSU must have a 2.5 GPA or higher
    -Applications must have an accompanied letter of recommendation
