Dear NPGCC 2013 Finalist,

With the finals just in less than a month away, we would like to email you with some reminders to prepare you better for the finals.

Event: NPGCC 2013 Finals

Date: 18 September 2013

Venue: Wellington Primary School Hall

Time: 2.30* - 5.45 pm (Registration starts at 2.00pm)


Booths Matters:

Each schools will be provided with 2 tables, 2 chairs and a two panel display boards. The organizers will not be providing any laptops for the booths this year. Schools need to bring minimum one laptop for their booth. Should schools want to bring more than one laptop, do bring along your own extension wire.

Booth Location:

**Schools are to have their booths ready by 1.30 pm. As such participating teams are advised to arrive earlier to set up the booth. However the rest of the students supporters can come at 2pm. Do note that our school's dismissal is at 1.45pm.


Submission of Video and Games:

Do email the 1 min video presentation and games latest by Monday, 2 September 2013, 1159hrs for us to compile them and prepare for the screening during the Finals.

Please adhere to the deadline given as it would also give us time to get back to you should there be any problems with the videos.

More information with regards to the submission procedures will be emailed at another time, closer to the deadline.

 
Student Supporters

Teams are allowed to bring a total of 20 students (including the finalists) for the finals as student supporters. Schools with more than one team into the finals will be able to bring 20 student supporters per team. These supporters will then have a chance to go around and play all the games before voting for their favourite game. The game with the highest number of votes will then win the Most Popular Game Award.

Judging Rubric Matters:

Below shows the Rubrics for Categories of prizes to be won during the Final event:

  • Best Entrepreneur/ Best Booth

  • Best Video

  • Best Game

The game with the highest number of votes (student supporters voting for their favorite game) will then win the Most Popular Game Award.

The team with the total highest score, (All Category) will win the most prestigious NPGCC award, Overall Champion! 

Last but not least, we are pleased to inform you that SPS, Mr Hawazi Daipi will be gracing the event as our GOH. 

More details and information such as RAMS and VIP guests list will be provided at a later time. Do check our websites regularly for the judging rubrics and other updates.

1) Event will be held in Wellington Primary School @ Boardroom (level 1) on 12 July 2013, from 2.30 p.m to 5.30 p.m. Team will be allocated a specific time for the presentation and are allowed to leave once they have finished their presentation. 2) As indicated earlier, shortlisted teams will present their game concept proposal which was submitted earlier. The presentation could be in any form of media (PPT, Prezi, Video, etc) and teams are encouraged to think out of the box to make the 'Game Concept' come alive.
 
3) After each presentation will be a short Q&A by the judges for the team members. The judges will also provide pointers and feedback on how to better their games. Each team will be given 5 - 10 minutes for their presentation, inclusive of the Q&A. Due to the numbers of teams presenting, teams are advised to stick to the time limit given.
 
4) Please note that the judges will be given a copy of your original proposal. Any changes, if applicable, will have to be indicated and justified during presentation and team members will need to explain the rationale and reasons for making the change. 

5) Teams are advised to arrive 15 minutes earlier to prepare for the presentation. Please bring your own laptop if you want to rehearse while waiting for your slot. Do inform us earlier should you need other logistic requirements. 
 
Please note that teams that could not make it for the judging will be withdrawn from the competition.

Teams are NOT required to submit any games at this point of time. You are encouraged to review your game concept based on feedback given by the judges and make changes (if any). 

Deadline for submission of games is 2 September 2013.

We will be emailing you again with more details on our panel of invited judges.

We have receive an overwhelming response and are very heartened to note your interest in incorporating Game Creation into teaching and learning in your school. 
It was a very close fight and the judges really had a tough time selecting. However after many grueling hours of discussion, they have narrowed down  the finalist for all categories

We will be emailing the finalists again with more details on the time slot allocated and also our panel of invited judges.
 
Please note that teams that could not make it for the judging will be withdrawn from the competition and the next team with the next highest score will take over the slot.

NPGCC Registration is OPEN! 
  • The event is open to pupils from primary 4, 5 & 6.
  • Each group can have a maximum of up to 5 members.
  • Schools are eligible to submit up to 2 groups.
  • Free training will be provided for participants based on first come first serve basis.
  •  They will be trained to develop video games of assorted genres such as Shooter games, Maze games, Platform games using GameMaker software and also using new 3D Platform call 3D Hive.
