Qualifications to Vote

Who Can Vote?

In the upcoming Métis Nation – Saskatchewan general election, you are eligible to vote for an Executive Member if, on election day, you are: 

·         a Métis citizen;
·         at least 16 years of age;
·         not registered as a member of a First Nation or other group of Aboriginal peoples; and
·         a resident of Saskatchewan. 

If you meet these qualifications, you also have the right to vote for a Regional Representative that is running as a candidate in the region where you live.  


Voter Registration 

Do You Need to be Pre-Registered to Vote?

No.  All voters will be registered at the time of voting.  You will need to provide your name, current address and signature.  You will be asked to take an oath or make a declaration.

Voting Opportunities & Times

- In your Regional Returning Office: 10am to 2pm and 4pm to 6pm from May 12th through May 19th (Closed on Sunday)

- Advance polls in select communities: 12pm to 7pm

- Election Day: 9am to 7pm
