MLT Alumni Turn Out and Turn it Up in Chicago
Chicago welcomed the first MLT Alumni-hosted social and mixer of 2012 on Thursday, May 31st at the Angels and Kings lounge in the Hard Rock Hotel.
Chris Johnson (MBAP '08) and Mia Hillsman (MBAP '07) put together an amazing event that brought out 30+ MLT alumni to catch-up with one another, network, and generally have a great MLT time. The pictures below tell the story! We look forward to many more of these events in the coming months.
Are you an alumnus who is interested in putting together an event? We already have a working group in Washington D.C.--let us know where you are and we'll be sure to help you put your own fantastic event together!
The NFL Hosts MLT
MLT's second alumni networking and social event of 2012 was hosted by the National Football League (NFL) on May 8th in their Manhattan headquarters with over 41 MLT Alumni in attendance. The intimate evening was dazzling from the very start, with superbowl rings starting with the very first on display in the lobby.
A panel comprised of several NFL staff members of color kicked off the evening with fantastic descriptions of their interests and the alignment between those interests and their work at the NFL. Chaired by Rory Verrett, Vice President and Head of Talent Acquisition and Management, the panel also included: Yang Bu (Manager of International Consumer Products), Terell Canton (Program Manager in the Officiating Department), Jane Fang (Manager of Media Strategy), Johanna Paretzky, (Director in the Consumer Products Department), and Corry Rush (Director of AFC Football Communications).
The panel proved fascinating and deeply informative and was followed by a cocktail hour with great networking time and alumni reconnection.
Google Hosts MLT
MLT's first alumni networking and social event of 2012 was hosted by Google on March 28th at their Manhattan headquarters with over 120 MLT Alumni, current Fellows and staff in attendance. In addition to the fantastic connections made between MLTers and the larger MLT community, Tarresha Poindexter, Account Manager of Direct Sales & Operations, introduced Google's Accelerate with Google Program. Several Google recruiters were also on-hand to discuss various employment opportunities with the company.
It was truly a fantastic event and we look forward to seeing more MLT Alumni at the several nationwide events we have planned in the upcoming months as well as at the 10th Anniversary Gala and Conference tentatively scheduled for Spring 2013.
