Al Richardson

Hi and thank you for stopping by this portion of the Marshfield R-1 Curriculum & Assessment website. My name is Al Richardson and I am the Director of Curriculum and Assessment for the district. I actually started my journey with Marshfield back in August 1975 when I entered kindergarten under the tutelage of Ms. Ruby Page. I was fortunate enough to attend Marshfield Schools from kindergarten up through the day I graduated. During my time as a student at Marshfield I had several teachers who not only instructed me in academics, but also helped me to grow as a person. These teachers left a strong impact on me; strong enough to steer me to the world of education as a profession.

Through high school and college I had a strong desire to learn. Even today I love to learn new and exciting things. Back then my key areas of interest were math, science, and visual arts. Today, those key areas still live within me, but they have also been joined by an interest in curriculum, assessment, grading practices, and education in general. These new passions help me not only personally but in our drive to prepare each student in the Marshfield R-1 district for a successful future.

When not working, I enjoy reading, going for drives, trying new restaurants and foods, and even the occasional trip to the casino. My childhood hobby of collecting comic books has been replaced with the adult hobby of collecting animated movies and live-action films from Marvel and DC characters and collecting various Funko Pop! items.  What can I say...I'm still a big kid at heart!

If I can ever be assistance please do not hesitate to call or to stop by my office!
