Hello and Welcome to our class!! I am so excited to be your child’s fourth grade teacher. Fourth grade is a fun and exciting year. I departmentalize teach with Kelly Denison and Sara Alexander. This means I will be teaching Math, Mrs. Denison will be teaching Reading and Science, and Mrs. Alexander will be teaching Writing and Social Studies. During the year I look forward to getting to know you and your family. This year is going to be a special year. It is my tenth year at Montgomery ISD. I have had many exceptional classes in the past. I realize it is often difficult to start the school year off with a new teacher and virtually a stranger, so I thought I would tell you a little about myself.
I was raised in Willis, Texas. I attended Willis High School and graduated in 1995. During High School I was a cheerleader and student council representative.
After graduating from high school I continued my education at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. I graduated from college in 2000 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in mathematics. I completed my student teaching at Cannon Elementary in Willis, Texas. After student teaching, I began my career at Travis Intermediate in Conroe, where I taught sixth grade for two years. I then moved to Montgomery, and have taught fourth grade for the past nine years.
I have a wonderful husband named Chad Kirk, who is self employed by Sterling First Aid and Safety. Together we have four children, Truitt Kirk (16), Baileigh Kirk (10), Emily Kirk (5), and Easton Kirk (2.) Being a parent myself I have many of the same concerns for my children as you do yours.
You are welcome to come and visit anytime. I would love to meet each and every one of you. I hope to share many fun and exciting learning experiences with your child during his or her fourth grade year. I know this will be a great year because we are at a wonderful school with an awesome staff. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you all!!
