Rowing Restrictions

Bow Lights
Any rowers launching before sunrise or landing after sunset must use a bow light.
Bow lights are recommended for anyone rowing or using a launch within 1 hour of sunrise or sunset.

Bow lights are required for any condition that could cause visibility issues: smog, rain, fog, etc.

Rowing Restrictions

10/6/2019 Safety launch required unless permission from Director. Restricted boats only allowed with permission from Director. Height = 9.92 ft and Discharge = 48,900 ft3 **expect these restrictions to stay until water goes down again ~ 14 days

7/26/19 All row. Follow restricted boat policy and bow list.  Height=8.1 ft and Discharge= 39,100 ft3
7/18/19 Safety launch required unless permission from Director. Restricted boats only allowed with permission from Director. Height = 9.45 ft and Discharge = 46,100 ft3 **expect these restrictions to stay until water goes down again (next update should come around Saturday/Sunday based on current projections)
7/8/19 Safety launch required unless permission from Director. Restricted boats only allowed with permission from Director. Height = 9.99 ft and Discharge = 49,600 ft3 **expect these restrictions to stay until water goes down again ~ 7 days
6/26/19 All row. Follow restricted boat policy and bow list. Height = 7.2 ft and Discharge = 34,700 ft3/s
6/17/19 Docks open. Programs rowing. Four Oar Rule. Follow restricted boat policy and bow list. Restricted boats only allowed with permission from Director outside of program times. No club singles without launch. Height = 8.43 ft and Discharge = 40,700 ft3/s


7/24/18 All row. Follow restricted boat policy and bow list. Height = 7.98 ft and Discharge = 38,200 ft3/s
6/11/18 All row. Follow restricted boat policy and bow list. Height = 6.75 ft and Discharge = 31,500 ft3/s
5/24/18 All row. Follow restricted boat policy. Club singles-if are bow certified or are with a launch/coach. Height = 6.01 ft and Discharge = 27,600 ft3/s
5/16/18 Restricted boats only allowed with permission from Director. No club singles without launch. Height = 8.7 ft and Discharge = 42,400 ft3/s
5/14/18 Four Oar Rule, Restricted boats only allowed with permission from Director. Height = 8.9 ft and Discharge = 43,400 ft3/s
5/11/18 Docks open. Programs rowing. Safety launch required unless permission from Director. Height = 9.56 ft and Discharge = 47,100 ft3/s
5/10/18 Ramps in, Docks open. Height = 9.8 ft and Discharge = 49,400 ft3/s (average is 25,000 ft3/s)
5/3/18 Ramps out, Docks closed. Height = 13.65 ft and Discharge = 70,900 ft3/s (average is 25,000 ft3/s)

Restricted Boats
The following boats are restricted and require the permission of the Director outside of program use (programs may or may not have access to these boats). Permission should be requested by the Coach on behalf of the athletes or independent rowers.

Launch Restrictions
Must have completed launch certification and have permission from Director, Captain, or Gas Master. All coaches have done this.
